From Milan to Baku: Kamila Verdiyeva at Fashion Week SS27

For Kamila Verdiyeva, Milan Fashion Week is becoming more than a place to observe the latest collections. It is increasingly a platform for international networking, discovering emerging talent and exploring new opportunities between the global fashion industry and the Azerbaijani market.

This September, the Azerbaijani entrepreneur and influencer returned to Milan for Spring/Summer 2027 Fashion Week, marking her second visit to Milan’s fashion calendar in 2026. Having already attended the Fall/Winter 2027 season earlier in the year, Verdiyeva came back with an increasingly business-focused approach to fashion.

One of the key stops on her Milan itinerary was WHITE Milano, the international fashion trade show known for bringing together established labels, emerging designers, buyers, showrooms and industry professionals.

For Kamila, the visit had a particular purpose: discovering new international brands with the potential for future collaborations and opportunities within the Azerbaijani market. Moving between collections and meeting representatives from different parts of the industry, she explored names that could resonate with an audience in Baku and beyond.

Her Fashion Week schedule also included private events hosted by Jimmy Choo and Casadei, offering a closer look at the brands’ latest collections away from the traditional runway format.

Another interesting experience was meeting MyTheresa team at their private event and discovering more about their experiences.

But Milan Fashion Week extends far beyond presentations and private appointments.

Kamila was also part of the city’s vibrant street-fashion scene surrounding some of the season’s major shows, including Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, Gucci, Roberto Cavalli and Prada. During Fashion Week, these locations become an unofficial second runway, attracting photographers, editors, stylists, influencers and international personalities from across the industry.

Throughout her Milan visit, Kamila connected with a diverse circle of fashion insiders, creatives and well-known personalities, making networking an equally important part of her Fashion Week experience.

Her growing presence on the international fashion circuit reflects a broader ambition: to connect her work in Azerbaijan with the global fashion landscape.

With an entrepreneurial background and an established presence in Azerbaijan’s lifestyle and creative scene, Verdiyeva is looking beyond simply attending Fashion Week. Her focus is increasingly on creating opportunities for international brands, designers, showrooms and creative partners interested in entering or developing their presence in the Azerbaijani market.

Following her second Milan Fashion Week experience of the year, Verdiyeva remains open to international partnerships, fashion collaborations, brand projects and creative initiatives.

For her, Milan SS27 was another chapter in an evolving relationship with the international fashion industry, one built around discovery, connections and the possibility of bringing new names and new ideas to Azerbaijan.
