A rising voice in the new generation of women leaders. The meaning of women’s leadership in business is evolving — and Gözde Dizdar is among the figures shaping that transformation.
A graduate of Hacettepe University’s Department of English Language and Literature and Ankara University’s prestigious Faculty of Political Sciences (Mülkiye), Dizdar began her professional journey through youth initiatives supported by the World Bank and the United Nations. Over time, that early international exposure evolved into a broad network of diplomacy, entrepreneurship, and global partnerships stretching from the Balkans to the Asia-Pacific region.
Her early role as Türkiye Representative of the International Republican Institute (IRI), followed by the founding of Governance and Development (GD Global), marked the beginning of a career focused on building connections between regions, institutions, and ideas.
The founding of GD Global also carries personal meaning. The company was established in 2009 on November 23rd — her mother’s birthday. A successful entrepreneur herself, Dizdar’s mother became GD Global’s first business partner and remains one of her greatest sources of inspiration.
Today GD Global operates through its representative offices in Singapore and Baku, building bridges in investment, business development, and strategic advisory across the Asia-Pacific corridor. Dizdar is also part of the leadership of the Bosphorus Summit, an international platform that brings together global leaders, policymakers, and entrepreneurs in Istanbul.
Gözde Dizdar is also the Türkiye Director of Millionaire Concept and a member of the Board of Directors.
“For me, success is not simply an outcome — it is the courage to bring the right people together around the right purpose.”

How was GD Global founded?
GD Global was never intended to be just another company. It began as a way of thinking — an approach to strengthening Türkiye’s role within global economic networks.
The idea was to create bridges through international investment partnerships, economic cooperation, and sustainable development initiatives.
Today GD Global continues to operate across the Asia-Pacific region through its representative offices in Singapore and Baku, focusing on business development, strategic partnerships, and advisory services.
For Dizdar, the most meaningful aspect of this work is simple: every project contributes, in its own way, to amplifying Türkiye’s voice in the global conversation.
“Vision is not only about looking ahead — it is also about understanding where you come from.”

What does women’s leadership mean to you?
For me, leadership is less about standing in front and more about creating space for others.
Throughout my career, I have tried to support women and young professionals in becoming more visible, confident, and influential in the business world.
The Youth Assembly Capital Internship Program, which we initiated years ago in Ankara, continues to represent a first professional step for many young women.
I often describe this as the chain effect of success. Sometimes one person’s step forward can illuminate the path for many others.

How did your interest in Southeast Asia begin?
In 2013 I assumed the role of International Vice President of CAPDI (Centrist Asia Pacific Democrats International), chaired by former Indonesian Vice President Muhammad Yusuf Kalla.
That experience introduced me to Southeast Asia’s extraordinary energy — not only economically, but culturally as well.
“When the right partnerships come together at the right time and in the right place, success often follows naturally.”
Today the region represents one of the most dynamic economic areas in the world, with more than 680 million people and a combined economy exceeding 3.8 trillion dollars.
For Türkiye, Southeast Asia offers strategic opportunities not only in investment but also in technology, energy, agriculture, and digital transformation.
At GD Global we approach the region not only through a business lens, but also through the perspective of economic diplomacy and cultural exchange.
“Women entrepreneurs already represent nearly 35 percent of the region’s business community — creating a natural synergy with Türkiye’s strong profile of women leaders.”
⸻
How did your path cross with the Bosphorus Summit?
My connection with the Bosphorus Summit began about six years ago when I met its founder, Cengiz Özgencil.
The relationships we had developed across Southeast Asia helped bring a new international dimension to the Summit.
Today the event brings together heads of state, business leaders, and global thinkers from more than sixty countries in Istanbul.
For me, the Bosphorus Summit is more than a conference. It is a platform where Türkiye’s intellectual, diplomatic, and economic potential is shared with the world.
“Türkiye is not only a geopolitical crossroads — it is also a country with a powerful geo-economic vision.”
By bringing diplomacy, business, and global leadership to the same table, the Summit reflects Türkiye’s development story.
“If Davos can raise its voice from Switzerland, why shouldn’t Istanbul become one of the world’s new economic voices?”
⸻
What role do social impact initiatives play in your life?
The needs that emerged after the earthquake deeply affected me, as they did many others.
During that period, a group of friends and I founded the Hayaller Gerçek Olsun Association (Dreams Come True) with a focus on long-term impact, particularly in education.
One of our most meaningful projects has been the six-classroom ecological school built in Defne, Hatay.
The school represents more than a building. It symbolizes hope and the belief that rebuilding begins with education.
“Investing in a child’s education is ultimately an investment in the future of society.”
⸻
What are your thoughts on Millionaire Concept?
Millionaire Concept represents a new generation of platforms where business, culture, and the creative industries intersect.
The vision behind it, led by Agil Mamiyev, brings together international networking, culture, and entrepreneurship in a unique way.
Its growing presence around the Festival de Cannes in Cannes, France, reflects the brand’s expanding global visibility.
Today success in business is shaped not only by financial intelligence, but also by creativity, cultural awareness, and collaboration across disciplines.
⸻
What is your philosophy of career?
For me, a career is not simply about building a profession — it is about creating a sense of meaning.
In every project I have worked on, I have tried to leave a small contribution to the future of my country.
That is why diplomacy, business, and social responsibility have never been separate paths for me.
“Consistency builds trust. Trust builds reputation. And reputation creates permanence.”
For me, reputation is a woman’s greatest asset.
It is not built through money or status, but through integrity.
⸻
Finally, what message would you share with young women?
Do not limit yourselves.
Every woman has the potential to lead in her own field.
What matters is not how you appear — but the impact you leave behind.
Women in Türkiye have long been the unseen heroes of resilience and productivity.
Today we walk on a path shaped by their efforts.
Our responsibility now is to carry that legacy forward — toward a more just, more inclusive, and more open future.
“When the power of women knows no limits, it has the power to change the world.”
